It all started on a totally random Friday night—July 12, 2019. I went out to dinner with a friend, and Chase was out with the boys at East Coast Wings. The second we walked in, we caught their attention (and apparently sparked a little friendly betting competition at their table). Enter the night’s real MVP: Chase’s best friend, Will. Who walked over and gave us two receipts one for me and one for my friend. Naturally, I assumed the guys had paid for our meal (how sweet, right?). Wrong. Instead, they had written their Snapchats and Instagrams on the receipts. Nice move, boys. By fate or maybe by Chase’s not-so-subtle plan I ended up with his. I added him on Snapchat before they even pulled out of the parking lot, and we started chatting right away. He played a strong game with all the smooth talk, and before I knew it, we had plans for coffee a few days later. That coffee date turned into hours of laughing and talking, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Who knew a couple of receipts could start all this?

Now, Chase will tell you our second date at Hops Burger is when I “broke up” with him (which is impressive, considering we weren’t even dating yet). I just made it clear I wasn’t looking for a boyfriend… but his persistence paid off. Somewhere between his charm and his determination, I let my guard down—and I’m so glad I did. I knew Chase was head over heels when he literally jumped out of an airplane for me. Mind you, this was his first time ever in an airplane. Since then, I’ve turned him into a little world traveler. Together we’ve been on a cruise, explored Colorado (his flight to Chicago is a story for another day), adventured through New York City, and taken more road trips than we can count—where I, of course, get to live my best passenger princess life.
