Matron of Honor
Cierra and I met in Towson University's speech-language pathology program in 2021. Cierra was so nice and sweet and we became friends right away ❤ ️Some months later, Cierra told me she knew we were going to be friends because over the summer when she was Facebook stalking me, she saw a cow I drew and knew we were destined to be friends, and she was so right. In grad school, we laughed, mostly cried, and suffered daily through SLP grad school turmoil. She was always there for me and so supportive. I always felt so lucky whenever we had a class and group project to work on. Cierra was also one of the bridesmaids in my wedding and I'm so honored and grateful to be part of hers. I'm so excited to celebrate you and your wedding!!!! Love you my fellow SLP, Cierra, MS, CCC-SLP ❤️
Bridesmaid
I met Cierra during my freshman year at Towson University. We lived in the same dorm building. I remember she came up to me in the dining hall after recognizing me from the dorm, and we’ve been friends ever since. I even encouraged her to try dating apps, and tagged along as her “bodyguard” on her first date with Matt from a safe distance, of course! We shared so many fun adventures throughout college, and I’m so grateful for our friendship. Congratulations and best wishes to Cierra and Matt on their marriage!
Bridesmaid
Cierra and I became friends in 6th grade where we shared the same homeroom. We were instant friends and to our surprise our families knew one another well and we even share a cousin! Cierra became my sister and I'm lucky to continue to be part of her life. She loves people with her entire heart! Cierra is truly one of a kind.
Bridesmaid
My name is Keri and I've known Cierra since we were young. We grew up in similar social circles as itty bitty kids only to come together as friends as we grew. From kids birthday parties to girls nights out, I feel blessed to have been able to watch Cierra grow to be one of the most amazing people I've ever met. She continues to be an absolute gem of a person, both witty and kind, intelligent beyond her years and blessed with a willpower to do great things. I am so grateful to not only have her in my life, but to be included in such a momentous celebration. I absolutely can't wait to see what else she accomplishes, and to witness the amazing life she and Matt will create together.
Bridesmaid
Cierra and I have known each other since kindergarten, but it took several years for us to become friends and then sisters. In middle school, she and I were both great friends with our fellow bridesmaid, Breshae, who introduced us to each other. From my perspective, I thought I was gaining a new friend! But Cierra thought I was coming along to "steal" her bestie away (little did she know, Bre and I had been best friends since 2nd grade). I guess I eventually grew on Cierra and we started to become friends, then best friends, and now we are sisters. Years later, she admitted to the one-sided beef she had with me. We still laugh about it now!
Bridesmaid
Cierra and I met back in middle school orchestra. We both played violin and were actually stand partners — which meant we had no choice but to become friends. She was super quiet with this soft voice that I’ve grown to really love over the years. Our friendship has stayed strong through everything, and it only grew deeper once we became roommates. At this point, I’ve told her way too many secrets to ever let her go — she’s basically stuck with me for life.
Parents of the Bride
Congratulations to Cierra and Matt. We are overjoyed and glad to be gaining a son-in law, who has been a son since day one. Matt, you got yourself a great young lady, continue to take care of each other. Best wishes to you both.
Parents of the Groom
You two make a beautiful couple and we’re thrilled to have Cierra joining our family. We’re excited to see where life takes you on this journey. We love you more than words!
Best Man
Matt and I met during undergrad at Capital University. We were Resident-Assistants together and bonded over our love of movies almost instantly. Even as we graduated and moved away from school, we have always made time to talk movies, teaching, and life with each other.
Groomsman
Matt and Lucas’ shared interest in bad jokes and even worse movies led to them becoming unofficial 2 brothers. Meeting at Capital University, they took those passions and made what they hope were good movies with better jokes (and depending on who you ask that may or may not be the case). Lucas is honored to be a groomsman in Matt and Cierra’s wedding and is excited to see where life takes them next!
Brother of the bride + Groomsman
I met Matt through my sister Cierra. The fondest memory I have is when we both attempted the Man v Food Challenge at Chick & Ruth’s in Annapolis. Let’s just say we both took a L! I didn’t know if I was going to pop or if somebody needed to call 911! I’m sure everybody in the restaurant was entertained. Just like this wedding, it’s a one time thing. Congrats to you both. May GOD bless your union.
Groomsman
Dan met Matt in a musty basement classroom filled with discussion about mise en scène and the cinematic brilliance of Let the Right One In. Whether talking about movie recommendations or shooting a feature-length indie film in nine days, Matt is always a friend who is both thoughtful and clever with his words and actions. Dan has enjoyed spending time with Matt and Cierra in recent years, and is excited to celebrate with them this October!
Groomsman
Torsell and I met as undergrads in 2013. Since both of us were Matts in a small film program, we quickly bonded over our names but more importantly our shared love of talking about movies and TV - sometimes to an obnoxious degree (though never to us.) That passion led us to start a college radio show focused on film soundtracks and scores. Every year we keep each other updated on our films while also encouraging one another in our creative pursuits. Our friendship may seem centered around movies, but that’s only because our lives are too.
Flower Girl
Cierra/Tootie, you are my cousin and I thank God for you to be my cousin. It is an honor for me to be your flower girl for your wedding. I am so happy for you and Matt! I hope you and Matt have a great time together forever. I love you Tootie!
Ring Bearer
Cousin Cierra "Tootie", I am so happy to be part of you and Matt's wedding. I am looking forward to being the best ring bearer. Thank you, and I love you!
Officiant + Cousin of the Bride + Mother of the Ring Bearer
My dearest Cierra, I am honored to officiate the wedding of you and Matt. To witness this milestone journey of your life is a sheer joy. I pray bountiful blessings to you now and forever. Love you!
