Sarah and Cole’s story began in a way that’s very mid 2010’s. Cole slid into Sarah’s DMs on Instagram. He was charming, persistent, and very clearly interested… but Sarah? Not so much. The whole “DM thing” just wasn’t her vibe, she briefly answered and went about her life. Then, one day, fate stepped in. It was a regular day at the Hyannis Ice Arena when Sarah spotted a guy across the rink and immediately turned to her friend to ask, “Who is that hottie?” Her friend casually replied, “That’s Cole… you know, the guy who’s been messaging you forever.” Sarah couldn’t believe it. No way. But from that moment on, everything changed. She felt an immediate pull and can honestly say it was love at first sight. She slid right back into those DMs, this time with intention and they finally met in person. The moment Sarah and Cole locked eyes, it was like the world paused for just a second, something clicked deep in their hearts. Even at just 15 and 16, before they knew much about love, they somehow knew…It wasn’t just a crush, it was the beginning of forever. From October 18th, 2014 on, they’ve been each other’s constant, choosing love every single day. Their shared love of the ice made it all the more poetic. Cole, the hockey player. Sarah, the figure skater. It was a real-life cliché in the very best way. A figure skater and a hockey player? The rom-com practically writes itself. A real-life Cutting Edge, so to speak…minus the dramatic montages (but with all the sparks). From there, Sarah and Cole grew up together. They navigated high school side by side, and eventually moved from the East Coast to Michigan to attend college. There, they took the next step in their journey. Building their first home together, not just in walls and furniture, but in laughter, shared dreams, and the little moments that make up life. Along the way, they adopted their sweet fur child named Pasta (yes, Pasta! After Boston Bruins David Pastrnak), who quickly became the center of their world. Life with Pasta in the mix only made their little world feel more complete. Over the last 10+ years, Sarah and Cole’s love has grown through every season, every challenge, every celebration. What started as a playful message turned into the kind of love that feels like coming home. Through every quiet morning, every long drive, and every late-night conversation, they’ve chosen each other, again and again. Now, as they look toward the future, they do so with full hearts, knowing that their greatest adventure is still unfolding, and they get to live it side by side.
