Michael and Moriyah first met at youth group one night when a mutual friend brought Michael for the first time. Moriyah instantly thought he was very cute and naturally told all of her friends about him. One friend (unknowingly) being Michaels Dairy Queen coworker. She started subtly mentioning Moriyah in their conversations, leading up to him asking her on a date! They had their first date shortly after, drinking coffee while watching the sunset overlooking Seattle. They danced on the dock shamelessly, all while being watched (and probably judged) by crab fishermen.

Michael had been on TDY in San Diego from January - June. He surprised Moriyah with a trip to the beach a couple weeks before he was set to come home! The couple and their friends set off to Rockaway Beach in Oregon, where they stayed at a beautiful air bnb. Moriyah was skeptical of the whole thing, but wasn’t sure if he was really going to pop the question. That night, they went down to the beautiful beach at sunset, where he proposed. He was so excited he was telling everyone who walked along the beach that she said yes.
