Our story began August 1st 2021. Emily had just gotten back from Killbear Provincial Park, when she had posted about a Cotton Candy Kraft Dinner flavour on her instagram story which helped encourage Daniel to slide into her messages as an entry way. Upon discussing this very odd creation of Kraft Dinner at the time, the conversation quickly faded. Though, Daniel did not let it end, determined to keep the conversation alive he asked random questions to avoid the disconnect that could potentially happen as he worked the nerve to start it. As the conversation went on, that night, Daniel then asked if Emily wanted to go out for coffee. Emily had just had a great weekend in Killbear for the long weekend and wanted to continue enjoying the weekend. A little hesitant, Emily accepted as she had known Daniel from following him on instagram for years and knowing him from high school 6 years back, no stranger.. In fact just going out for a coffee with a guy she knows just not very well. Eventually she admitted she didn't actually like coffee (a detail Daniel would never forget) so they decided on something better, gelato. Daniel arrived at Emily's parents house at the time in his work truck listening to country music.. Just like the guy she had heard about a little bit country, a lot of heart. For the first time in her life, a guy parked in the driveway, walked to the front door, and escorted her out to the truck, opening the door, and closing it behind her, as the gentleman she comes to realize he is, from the very beginning. They made there way to Vaughan as Daniel claimed he knew a great spot for gelato called gelato gelato. He wasn't wrong, it was delicious and the perfect little spot for a nice summer night. Once they finished their gelato, he had asked Emily if she wanted to see where he worked. She was caught off guard.. Who wants to go to their work place on a weekend to show a girl what it's about. His passion was endearing — was this a red flag… or a glowing green one? Is this real life... Being open to spontaneous ideas, Emily accepted. They made their way to his work that turned out to be 2 minutes down the road. Daniel unlocked the gate and they made their way into what was called a gravel depot full of recycled rocks in high mountain stacks. Daniel was the foreman of his place of work in which he drove a very large loader. He turned to Emily and asked if she wanted to go sit inside. Being the spontaneous easy going girl she is, she accepted. Together, they climbed into the loader. Daniel showed her how the machine works teaching her something she wasn't expecting to learn on whats turned into this very interesting night. Daniel brings Emily to the top of the hill that he insisted they go. Once they reached the top of the hill, silence filled the air. Below them, the city sparkled, so bright you could see the CN tower from the distance. It was peaceful. Surreal. Just the two of them, watching the skyline on a beautiful summer night. After a while, they headed back down, but the night wasn't over yet. They made their way back to Aurora to an open field. To this day, Daniel claims he did not plan any of this night... He pulls out 2 markers and grabbed lanterns he supposedly just had sitting in the backseat. He told Emily they'd each write something they wanted to release - a wish, a memory, something to let go of - and then set it into the sky. They made their way to the open field, lit their lanterns and watched them drift into the sky. As they stood there, Daniel leaned in and kissed Emily for the very first time. The moment was magical, like the movies. The night ended and Daniel brought Emily home shortly after. For what was suppose to be a quick outing for ice cream, turned out to be the greatest date of all time.

Daniel was taking a really long time to seal the deal and make their relationship official. The realness of what they have is something scary to come to terms with when you have never experience something like it before. As days, weeks and months went by, Emily knew what she wanted. She decided to create a timeline. She came up with February 14th, Valentines Day. As she did not tell Daniel about this timeline, many people knew this was set. Daniel knew he had to figure out what he wanted but did not know there was a date or what this date was. On February 12th 2022, he decided to make their relationship official. COVID restrictions had just ended and he had chose to words "well I can finally take my girlfriend out for a proper dinner". They were in his truck on their way to their friends house in Bracebridge about to have a great weekend. Safe to say, he cut it real close but he did it, 2 days before of what was going to be the end of their story. When things are meant to be they will be. Today, they have decided to make their wedding day the day their real story began. 02/12 <3
