Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America, nesting between both California and Nevada. It is a 45 minute drive through Carson City, or an hour and 10 minutes through truckee. There are plenty of stores and cute shops in Tahoe City, or hang out near the beach at Sand Harbor or Zephyr cove.

Virginia city developed as a “boomtown” for Nevada after the discovery of the first major silver deposit. It’s a historical city located just short of a 40 minute drive outside of Reno. Virginia city has a rich history, and plenty of cute brunch locations as well as shops.
