How do I go about getting my money exchanged?

Answer

The best place to exchange your American cash for Mexican pesos is at the airport. Upon arrival walk down the corridor towards the airline check-in counters. At the end of the counters on the right there will be four ATM machines. These ATM's will give you a MUCH better exchange rate than the money exchange offices in the airport or in Sayulita, so take advantage. ATMs IN SAYULITA ARE OFTEN EMPTY! WE SUGGEST EXCHANGING YOU MONEY AT THE AIRPORT.

ATM's in Sayulita?

Answer

There are two recommended ATMs. The first is inside Don Pedro's restaurant and is labeled with 'MULTIVA BANK' on the side. The other is on the street behind the OXXO store on the left hand side in front of the VET clinic (There is also one inside OXXO, but is unreliable). We DO NOT recommend you use the two ATM machines in front of the plaza, as they are VERY expensive. Because there are only a few ATM machines in Sayulita, sometimes they run out of cash, so plan accordingly by exchanging an ample amount at the airport according to your plans. You will be able to use your debit or credit card at most places, but be sure to advise your banks that you are traveling to the region. ATMs IN SAYULITA ARE OFTEN EMPTY! WE SUGGEST EXCHANGING YOU MONEY AT THE AIRPORT.

Do I need a power converter for my appliances?

Nope! You don't need a voltage converter in Mexico, when living in the United States.

Will I have Cell Service?

Answer

Unless you purchase an international phone plan, you will not have cellphone service. We suggest downloading WhatsApp. This can be used on Wi-Fi and most facilities have Wi-Fi.
