We met at new hire orientation for Facebook, where Clay is a software engineer and Morgan is a data science manager. Both of us were based in the NYC office, but we spent a month in the Menlo Park headquarters for "bootcamp". Clay and one other n00b were in line to check in at corporate housing when Morgan arrived. The three quickly became Facebook friends, and then IRL friends....and the rest is history.

Morgan was visiting her family in Sacramento, CA in August 2021. Her mom wanted to do a "mother-daughter photo shoot", which at age 28 Morgan found to be a weird request. In fact, she made such a stink about NOT wanting to do the shoot that the plan almost failed. Luckily, familial obligation won out and Morgan got all dressed up for a photo shoot on a Fair Oaks Bridge overlooking the American River. When the "photographer" finally arrived, it was actually Clay down on one knee! After some initial confusion, Morgan finally said "Yes!" and the two sped off for a romantic weekend in downtown Sacramento.
