NOTE: This was pushed to start 2026. Starting 2025, many EU countries will start to require visas for US citizens. We recommend getting one to be safe. They Cost about 7 euros, but will take some time to process so best to get ahead on this one.

Travel Note

Transportation to Alès from within France

1. Bus Nimes: $15-25 (1 hr 18min), Avignon: $5-10 (1hr 45min) 2. Train Nimes: $10-20 (36 min), Avignon $20-40 (1hr 51 min) 3. Private transport from both Nimes and Avignon - price varies. 4. Rent a car from $45 per day, required US drivers license and passport. Pickup/drop off of car available in Ales, Nimes, and Avignon 5. At this time ride-share (Lyft and Uber) both appear to be present in the region
