The day our world's collided; just one awkward freshman and a junior following God’s plans whole-heartedly. One sat to avoid human interaction, the other forced to move seats from the back. The statement that changed our lives? "Everyone stand up, and talk to someone who is NOT on your team" (loosely quoted). Over the course of a month and a half, our friendship blossomed into a Christ-centered relationship. Homework sessions turned into late night drives getting to know each other's heart. Casual hitting hangouts turned into meaningful moments where we grew as athletes, individuals, and a couple learning to love one another. Saying "I love you" came as naturally as breathing. It's safe to say we both knew how much we cared for each other pretty early on. Over the next several years, we watched each other graduate, find new jobs, work in and outside of the Church, take on new adventures with the sport we both loved, join a new church family (shout out Dream City fam), and ultimately make one of the hardest decisions of our relationship. On January 12, 2025, our lives were completely transformed. Facing the unknown of potentially spending four months apart, Chandler went to the kitchen cabinet, grabbed the brown ring box, and told me that no matter the distance, I needed to know how much he loved me (don't worry, I was crying too). In that moment, I knew that wherever God was calling him, that's where I was meant to be. We can't imagine spending our lives with any other person. He makes me laugh when I need it most, comforts my tears with words from the Lord, and never lets me walk this life alone. I make him question his sanity with my late-night laughing fits, make the best brownies he's ever had, and act as his missing rib as Eve was to Adam. If there's one thing we hope you've gained from our story, it's that there is no us without the Lord. He has guided our steps, brought us to each other when we least expected, and remained the forefront of our relationship. We can't wait to celebrate this new covenant we are making with the Lord with all of you!!
