We met at our local downtown college bar in the summer of 2019. It was a Wednesday night, and we had both gone out for drinks with our closest friends to celebrate the end of another semester. We quite literally bumped into each other and sparked up conversation instantly, both unable to stop constantly laughing and smiling. Looking back, the way in which we met feels like a true "love at first sight" scenario, as we went on our first date that same week and never went one day without speaking after that.
On the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, we prepared for a dinner at our favorite restaurant where we had previously spent many birthdays, countless brunch dates with friends, and our one year anniversary in 2020. Once we arrived, we walked down to enjoy the view of the sun setting on the Vermilion River. We held hands on the bridge overlooking the sunset and began talking about all the things we loved about our life together and some of our favorite memories from the past four years. Glenn then dropped to one knee and asked the question I had hoped all day he would. After joyfully making calls to our closest family and friends to tell them about the commitment we had made, we enjoyed an intimate dinner at the place that had become the backdrop for so many special moments in our life - especially that evening.
