Lucky is the right word. So, Karla and I met as many do in the 21st century ... online. Our first date was at a brand-new (at the time) restaurant/concert venue in East Los Angeles, and who knew it would be the start of something more? We both kind of did. At that moment. You just know. As the relationship progressed, we've been back to that place many times to celebrate highlights in our lives and to see some of our favorite bands. BUT, we've had so many more experiences that have solidified our relationship throughout the years. Yearly trips to national parks like Big Sur, Zion and Bryce Canyon, a ton of concerts, festivals, parties at our home and - most importantly - visits to see our family and friends. We've made a wonderful home in Los Angeles' Highland Park. We have proudly expanded our own family group to include everyone reading this today. When we got engaged on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, it was a wonderful boost of joy to this weird year. Thankfully, I didn't drop the ring, and Scarlette approved, too. Maybe we didn't fully understand how our lives would change after that first date, but somehow, we knew we'd get here. We are lucky and rich in love. Thank you all.
