Little Italy
One of our favorite neighborhoods. The Little Italy Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 8:00am - 2:00pm and is one of the best in the country. You can also spend time exploring all of the Italian restaurants, gelato shops and if you're up for a walk see the Embarcadero.
Balboa Park
Not just any old park. Balboa Park is a huge park full of historic buildings, museums, gardens, and the San Diego Zoo. Walking across the Cabrillo Bridge and down El Prado (the main path through the park) is a must do!
Beaches
San Diego has 70 miles of coastline. These are some of the most popular beaches: - Mission Beach: Wide beach with boardwalk next to the historic Giant Dipper Roller Coaster - Coronado Beach: Huge beautiful beach next to the Hotel del Coronado (Hard to get to without a car) - Pacific Beach: Beach with a boardwalk near many bars and restaurants. This is for the younger crowd who wants to have a good time.
Best View Along the Coast: Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial
This is the highest point along the San Diego coastline with breathtaking views. On clear days you can see all the way from Mexico to Oceanside!
La Jolla Cove
La Jolla Cove is one of the prettiest points along the coast in San Diego. Here you can also see the native sea lions and seals. A short walk away is La Jolla village with high end stores and restaurants.
