Things To Do
There's a lot to see and do on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution: rent kayaks and play games at the Sports Club, stroll the shops around Bestor Plaza, and explore the streets of old victorian homes and gardens. The entire Institution is walkable/bikeable, but if you want to venture off the grounds, we've put together some of our favorite spots below!
Southern Tier Brewing Co.

A great local brewery that's just a short drive from the institution. If you're an IPA person like Dan, you'll extra like it.
Afterwords Cafe

Cafe on the grounds, a quick walk from the Athenaeum Hotel. Open 9-2 daily.
Chautauqua Golf Club

The Lakeview

The Lakeview is a dive bar that holds many late night memories. If you're looking for cheap beer and cheesy bar games, this is your spot.
Ellicottville Brewing

A brewpub in Bemus, which is across the lake, with great views of the water. There are lots of walkable restaurants, shops and ice cream nearby.
The Village Casino

Some of Melissa's earliest Chautauqua memories involve eating wings at The Casino. It's also across the lake, and the waterfront views can't be beat. Note: It's Not An Actual Casino :)
