Vero has some absolutely gorgeous beaches. With the turquoise waters and soft white sand, it is one of our favorite places to spend the day. If you are staying at a beachfront hotel, you'll have direct access. Otherwise, check out the public beach at Jaycee Park or at South Beach.
Walk or bike along the intracoastal on this gravel path that historically served as the citrus transportation route. Vero Beach has tons of amazing wildlife, and this spot is one of the best places to see birds, manatees, dolphins and more.
Enjoy an ocean breeze as you sip on a margarita or cocktail. We love to visit Cabana Bar at Costa d'Este (the outdoor, pool/beachside option) for lunch and Happy Hour (4-6pm). Try the Shrimp Tacos (Mere's fav!) or a Cuban (Mike's fav), and don't forget to order the Rioja Cups (OUR fav!). Owned by Gloria Estefan, the cuban dishes can't be beat!
Explore the Indian River Lagoon! The ICW is one of the most beautiful spots in Vero and one of our favorite places to spend the day on a boat exploring. You'll see countless birds, dolphins and maybe even spot a manatee. Options for boat or jet ski rentals, kayaks and paddle board rentals are plentiful, but we recommend checking out: Florida Boat Rentals (located under the Barber Bridge by Riverside Cafe), Propel Watersports and Boat Rental (at the Vero Beach Marina) or Vero Beach Rental Boats (at the Vero Beach Marina).
Some of our favorite spots to grab lunch are as follows: Chelsea's Gourmet (great sandwiches, make your own salad/bowl, smoothies and juices) Casey's (try the chicken sandwich or a burger with bacon!) Ryder's Market (the curry chicken salad is amazing, as are the Po'Boys!) Heaton's (lunch on the water at the Vero Beach Hotel) Citrus Grillhouse (grab a grapefruit martini and enjoy lunch on the patio overlooking the ocean) Sailfish Brewery
Vero has no shortage of amazing restaurants but here are some of our favorites for dinner: Citron Bistro (our favorite spot, hands-down!) Dario's (the best Italian in Vero in our opinion!) The Wave at Costa d'Este Polo Grill (more formal with amazing steak and seafood options) Citrus Grillhouse (ocean views and fun, fresh fare) Sailfish Brewery (a more casual option offering great food selections and beer/wine) Riverside (a bit of a dive, with the best view of the sunset over the lagoon - try the Tuna Tacos and The Jake Owen!) Taco Dive (located on 14th Ave. in the heart of downtown, another great casual option) The Kilted Mermaid (lots of shareable plates and eclectic vibes) Fish Shack (Baxter loves the fried oysters!)
Try it before it is gone: Seaside Grill is located on the ocean at Jaycee Park, a Vero Beach staple will be shutting down at the end April after 30-years in business (the owner is retiring), it is a must try and a staple in our lives! Other great options include: The Lemon Tree Red Onion Baci Restaurant on 14th Ave. Or hit up the fancier hotels for brunch on the weekends!
For those who like to golf, this public course is a fun play!
If you're interested in playing tennis while in town, let Meredith know, as she is member of Boulevard Tennis Club and would love to play with you!
