Boy swipes right. Girl swipes right. Boy asks girl on a date. Girl spits sangria all over the table while laughing at boy’s joke...it's tale as old as time :) Thankfully John somehow ignored this mortifying moment and we just clicked. On our second date we talked through the night, ignoring the cold and the need for sleep. Things quickly progressed after especially with lockdowns only increasing the amount of time we were able to spend together. John moved in with Melanie in August 2020 and in May 2021 we bought our first home! On the first night in our home, before the movers had brought our furniture, we enjoyed a lovely dinner of pizza sitting in camp chairs on the deck looking out at the lake. John says he knew in that moment that was where he would ask Melanie to marry him. A few months later he did just that. Under the disguise of finally agreeing to take holiday photos for a Christmas card, John set up the camera and switched it to record to capture the special moment complete with Melanie's goofy dancing, look of shock and many tears of joy. The surprises kept coming when we later went to brunch and both our families were there to help us celebrate. We are excited to continue our love story at our wedding and beyond and hope you will be able to help us celebrate and make many more memories in the future.
