As with many people these days, Nick and Megan found that dating in person had become quite challenging for the two of them. They both re-downloaded Hinge for the last time in early May of 2023, quickly matched with one another, and started sending paragraphs of messages day after day. A few days into this and anxious to meet each other, they decided to move their first date sooner than initially planned. They planned for a hike up Skunk Canyon in Boulder. Nick's first interaction with Megan was when she got out of the car and surprised him with delicious blueberry muffins. During the hike, their conversation never stopped, and they discover they share a favorite board game- the ridiculously complex "Terraforming Mars". When the date continued past the hike to a sit-down lunch, Megan decided to invite Nick over for a second date later that evening to play their favorite game. Not a single kiss was shared until Nick had proven victorious in the board game, and after 10 days in a row of seeing each other, they both realized this was going to be something more. A few weeks later, Nick biked 500 miles from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Winter Park, Colorado, where Megan was waiting with homemade lasagna and chocolate chip cookies. It was then Nick asked Megan to officially be his girlfriend. The rest is history!
