Discover why KC is the BBQ capital of the world! Just minutes from Union Station, you’ll find classics like Joe’s (the bride's favorite), Arthur Bryant’s, Gates, and Jack Stack. Hit all four and you’ve earned the legendary “Joe Arthur Gatestack” t-shirt made famous by Jason Sudeikis in Ted Lasso.
National WWI Museum and Memorial
This is a must-stop for guests visiting our city! Right across the street from Union Station, the overlook from the memorial offers an incredible view of our beautiful city, especially after sunset. And if you're a history buff, then you're in luck. The National WWI Museum and Memorial boasts the world’s most comprehensive WWI collection.
Country Club Plaza
Kansas City is known as the City of Fountains with more than 200 scattered around the metro. One of the most impressive fountains is found on the Country Club Plaza, better known to locals as just “The Plaza,” where there are plenty of great places to shop and dine. The Plaza is designed after KC's sister city Seville, Spain and is filled with beautiful architecture, statues, and fountains.
Ride the Streetcar
The KC Streetcar is both a fun & free way to travel to some of our great city's nearby attractions, with one of its stops being Union Station.

Into craft beers? While there are lots of small breweries in the downtown area, the most famous is Boulevard Brewing Co. If you can throw kinda far, then it’s literally about a stone’s throw from Union Station.

Bigs sports fan? Visit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum located at 1616 E 18th Street, just an 8 minute drive from the Sheraton and right alongside the American Jazz Museum, or hop on the streetcar and head to the College Basketball Experience and National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in the Power & Light District.
