There are several different hotel venues in the Donner Lake or Truckee area that you can select between. Each of these will have shuttle service to and from the venue for the ceremony and reception. Closest offsite hotel to Sugar Bowl, 10min drive. Rooms vary from $195 to $300/night after discount. These are more expensive, but do come with the added convenience of being walkable from the ceremony and reception venue. Shuttle
North Lake Tahoe Local Transportation (Truckee to Sugar Bowl)

For those of you who elect to stay in Truckee, there will be a shuttle service between Truckee and Sugarbowl for the ceremony and reception. The shuttles will stop at each of the 4x hotels listed in the section above. If you’ve booked your own housing, you’re also welcome to use these shuttles if you can get yourself to and from one of these properties. If you prefer to arrange your own transportation, you have a few options. There is plenty of parking at the venue, so you can drive yourself or carpool, but we ask you to please do so responsibly. Additionally, you may be able to call an Uber or Lyft as they both operate in North Lake Tahoe, but available vehicles can be few and far between. Finally, the following taxi companies also operate in North Lake Tahoe and can be used for local or RNO airport travel. Please note they all encourage you to pre-book rides. Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO)
Reno airport is a scenic 50 minute drive to Sugarbowl Resort and is likely the easiest commute for out of state travelers, featuring direct flights from Austin, TX and one-stop flights from Ann Arbor, MI. After landing, you have several options for transportation from the RNO to Truckee. Rental cars, Uber and Lyft, and pre-arranged transportation services (https://www.northlaketahoeexpress.com) are all great options. If you want to take in even more of the sights, there is a 1 hour long, beautiful Amtrak California Zephyr route that runs from Reno, NV to Truckee, CA that costs $15. San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
San Francisco Airport is a 3 hour drive from Sugar Bowl Resort (without traffic). Plan your travel times carefully, as the Bay Area has heavy commuter traffic and the roads to Tahoe can be inundated with vacationers on the summer weekends.
