Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

SUNDAY MAY 5TH - WELCOME DINNER: Casual Attire (but no beachwear) This is a casual event at a working brewery. Come comfortable and ease into the celebrations with us! MONDAY MAY 6TH - WEDDING & RECEPTION: Let’s call it “Elevated Island Attire” We'll kick it up a notch for the wedding, but we still want you to keep your comfort and the island climate in mind. For example: - Short sleeve button ups, nicer polos or Aloha shirts, linen pants, khakis, or tailored shorts (yes shorts are totally fine, even suggested if you run warm; just think chinos or tailored golf shorts, maybe skip the cargos), loafers, boat shoes, dressy sneakers or similar. - Sun dresses, maxi dresses, dressy jumpsuits or pantsuits (light fabric recommended), dressy sandals, wedges, flats or similar. Fun prints and colors are welcome! The ceremony venue is largely on grass, so we don't recommend high heels. Jackets are also unnecessary. It will be quite warm! Ultimately we’d much rather you come less formal than have to ditch out early because you’re uncomfortable. We want to see you on the dance floor! TUESDAY MAY 7TH - FAREWELL BEACH DAY & LUNCH: Beachwear This is a relaxed beach day. Come casual, comfy and ready to chill by the beach. Bring your swimsuits and sunscreen. Bathrooms and changing areas can be accessed at the houses.

Question

Is there parking at the event venues?

Answer

Parking for the Welcome Dinner on May 5th is available at Kona Brewing Company (74-5588 Pawai Place), and in adjacent lots in the same complex. Parking for the Kona Beach Houses - the location for the Wedding Ceremony & Dinner on May 6th and the Farewell Beach Day & Lunch on May 7th - is available about one block south of the houses (2 min walk) in front of the Living Stones Church at 76-6224 Ali'i Drive. You can search "Living Stones Church Kona" on Google or Apple Maps to locate.

Question

Is there transportation available on wedding day?

Answer

On wedding day (May 6) we will be providing shuttle transportation pre-ceremony leaving from Pacific 19 Kona and likely making other stops on Ali'i Drive (more details to come). We will also offer pre-ceremony shuttle pick up from Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa. These shuttles will bring guests to the ceremony venue (Kona Beach Houses, 76-6186 Ali'i Drive). After dinner, we will provide transportation for ALL guests to our reception venue (Papa Kona Restaurant & Bar in downtown Kona) for dessert and dancing. Those staying near downtown Kona (Pacific 19, Royal Kona etc.) will be able to easily walk back to their hotel after the reception. For others, we will provide return transportation throughout the night from Papa Kona Restaurant & Bar to locations south on Ali'i Drive, making stops as requested, including back to the Kona Beach Houses area, and as far south as Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa. We highly recommend planning to make use of our transportation service as taxi/Uber/Lyft options can be quite limited on Big Island, especially at night.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We do love the little ones! However, other than the few children of the couple's immediate family, our ceremony and reception will be adults only. That said, we understand you may want to travel with your kids! If you are interested in nanny/babysitting services for the day of the wedding, our local wedding planner recommends Malihini Keiki Care. More info on their services can be found at https://mkcare.com. You can also email mkcare@mkcare.com or call 808-331-2909.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer
