The BEST tacos. Montana's go to order is the tipsy chick and the democrat while Zach likes the trailer park trashy and the republican. *yes that's just what they're called*
If you're spending some time in Austin, you MUST try Texas BBQ. While Franklin's is ~technically~ number 1, Terry Black's is the most accessible. Montana's favorite is the brisket, creamed corn, and mac & cheese! Zach loves the sausage, cornbread, and of course the mac & cheese. Go in prepared (hungry) as they serve meat by the pound.
Tillie's is Camp Lucy's on site restaurant. After deciding on the wedding venue, they were kind enough to comp our meal there and it was GREAT. We highly recommend the portobello frites, filet, and the smoked old fashion.
If you're making a trip out of this, spend some time in Fredericksburg (wine country). This is where Montana & Zach went the day after they got engaged to do the food/wine tasting.
If you're spending time in Austin, buy tickets in advance for Pumpkin Nights! Montana and Zach have gone for 4 years in a row (October 2026 will be year 5!) and highly recommend. It's a walking patch of pumpkin art that lights up at night. This is in north east Austin, so pretty far from Dripping Springs. Though, we had to put it on the list :)
For anyone coming in early, Montana will likely take a SoulCycle class the week of the wedding. Text if you'll be in town, I'd LOVE to have you!
If you're near downtown Austin, the Comedy Mothership has shows almost every night! You'll need to buy tickets in advance (with a small chance of walk in's available). Go see the iconic "dirty 6th" street in Austin, Tx and see a show at Joe Rogan's comedy club. Don't be alarmed when they put your phones in bags for privacy.
Located in the LINE hotel downtown, Alfred is one of Montana's favorite coffee shops from when she lived in Los Angeles, CA. Her and her roommates would go 1x a week for "Alfred Friday" during covid when we were all working from home. Try the Iced Vanilla Latte with Oat Milk!
Take a walk around the Lady Bird Lake Trail to get your steps in and see the beauty of Austin's active community. Park at Zach Theater or Zilker Park. Another option is to get out on the lake. Yes, it is STILL hot enough in Texas! Rent stand up paddle boards from Texas Rowing Center.
