This is where we got engaged and where we took our engagement pictures! Park by the glider port and walk along beautiful cliffs and multiple trails of varying difficulty, or just walk down the beach at the bottom! (But watch out - Blacks Beach directly under the glider port is a nudist beach so you may see more than you signed up for! But if you stay on the northern side of the cliffs, things will remain PG!)
Spend the day with the seals at La Jolla Cove! Not even a 5 min walk from the venue, La Jolla cove is known for its views and its sea life!
If you’re in town for the whole weekend, the Padres take on the A’s at 6:40 PM on the 23rd, and Petco Park delivers sunset skies, chaotic cheering, and wildly overpriced beverages you’ll pay for happily. Even if you don’t know the rules, just cheer when everyone else does. You’ll figure it out.
Step inside and immediately feel cooler than you were five minutes ago. The Lafayette is vintage glamour, moody lighting, strong drinks, and the kind of place where one cocktail casually turns into a night you won’t forget… even if you try. Come for a drink, stay for dinner, and some more drinks, with 7 distinct restaurant and bar experiences on the property (including things like the diner, lobby bar, pool bar, The Gutter bowling/bar, and Quixote), there’s something for everyone.
On Saturday between 8am-2pm, if you find yourself awake, caffeinated, and craving a little chaos (the good kind), head to the Little Italy Farmers Market. Expect fresh flowers, incredible food, samples you didn’t ask for but will gladly accept, and the kind of people-watching that deserves a slow stroll. Come hungry, leave happy, maybe buy a loaf of bread you’ll talk about for years.
If San Diego were flirting with you, this would be it. Little Italy is all candlelit patios, clinking wine glasses, and “let’s just get one more plate” energy. Stroll hand-in-hand, order too much pasta, linger over dessert, and fall a little bit in love — with the neighborhood, the food, and possibly each other all over again.
As the name suggests, this is the perfect place to catch the sunset and enjoy the views!
While you’re in town for our wedding, we hope you’ll take some time to explore the beauty and charm of Balboa Park—San Diego’s cultural heart and one of our favorite spots in the city! With over 1,200 acres of gardens, museums, trails, and Spanish Colonial architecture, there’s something for everyone. Spend the afternoon wandering through the Botanical Building, or visiting world-class museums like the Museum of Us or the San Diego Museum of Art. Whether you’re into art, nature, history, or just soaking up the sunshine, Balboa Park is the perfect place to unwind before or after the big day.
Walk along the harbor and take in the views at the Embarcadero. With plenty of food and drink options, an easy choice for the picky eater! Along the Embarcadero you will find the Maritime museum where you can see historic vessels such as the Star of India, Steam boat Berkeley and the USS Dolphin, the deepest diving submarine in U.S. Navy history
The Maritime Museum of San Diego is renowned for its excellence in restoring and operating historic vessels, including the world’s oldest active ship, Star of India. With one of the finest collections of historic ships and exhibits available for public tours, it’s been named one of the top three maritime museums globally. A must-see for your bucket list! You can even take a cruise around the bay on a Pirate ship complete with cannons!
If you’re looking for a classic Southern California experience, Coronado Island is a must-visit during your stay! Just a short drive or ferry ride from downtown San Diego, this charming island offers beautiful beaches, relaxed coastal vibes, and stunning views of the San Diego skyline. Stroll the iconic Coronado Beach, known for its soft white sand and sparkling ocean views, or explore the historic Hotel del Coronado—a landmark full of stories and seaside charm. You’ll also find quaint shops, waterfront dining, and bike rentals perfect for cruising around the island. It’s the perfect place to soak up some sun, sip a cocktail by the ocean, or just take in the beauty of San Diego at a slower pace. Whether you’re planning a relaxing afternoon or a scenic sunset visit, Coronado is a dreamy little escape we absolutely love—and think you will too!
There are a ton of bar scenes in San Diego if you want a night out on the town, most popular would be Pacific Beach and Gaslamp, hit us up if you get into town early and we'll let you know where we're drinking!
Not to be basic, but this place slaps. You gotta go and you gotta get the churros, I don’t make the rules. There are a couple locations in San Diego, including this one conveniently located in La Jolla!
You may have to wait in a short line but these tacos are worth the wait! Located downtown in the Gaslamp quarter, these are a great choice! Just be aware, seating is limited!
Nestled in an unassuming shack in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego, the Friendly’s smash burgers will knock your socks off. Highly recommend the “OG Dirty Flat Top” burger with some fries and a surprisingly cheap beer. Not to be dramatic, but these are hands down, the best smash burgers on earth.
I’ve had ramen in Japan and -IMO- this place is up to snuff (Don’t come for me ramen snobs, I said what I said). My fav is the “Notorious GGG” (if you love garlic), or the “Smoke Bomb bowl”. There are also locations in Mira Mesa and Hillcrest depending on where you’re staying
