Rehearsal Dinner

2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park ~ Group Campsite
2605 Adobe Canyon Road, Kenwood, CA 95452

ALL ARE WELCOME (To attend, please use the e-RSVP: mopeter6422@gmail.com) We will be arriving at our group campsite to enjoy food and conversation prior to our ceremony. Bring your favorite grill items, salads, side dishes and finger foods, lawn chair or blanket. We will supply charcoal, cooking and eating utensils, plates, cups, napkins and beverages. Arrive anytime after 2 pm. We will plan on eating around 4 pm.

Ceremony

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Our ceremony will be officiated by Michele Brandt, Sensei at our CityZen Sangha*. *Sangha – a Buddhist community. Water Communion: We want you to feel a part of our merging through a common ritual we participate in at our Unitarian Universalist congregation known as Water Communion. If you want to, please bring a sample of water you have collected that has meaning, either from a special location (e.g., the family home, an ocean or river, memento of a trip) or a special occasion (first rain after a dry spell). As you arrive to our celebration, place your sample of water in the bowl we will provide so that they can merge. Meditation: We will sit for 10 minutes of silence and meditation at the beginning of our ceremony. In our CityZen meditation and koan practice in Santa Rosa, we sit in stillness with our Sangha to allow our mind to unravel and reveal our true nature - a consciousness we share with all beings. (To attend, please use the e-RSVP: mopeter6422@gmail.com)

Champagne Toast & Cake Reception

7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Following our ceremony, we would love for everyone interested to share a champagne toast. Cake and sweet treats as well as cold and hot beverages will also be served. We will have dancing to recorded music followed by a campfire and live music. Please feel free to bring your instrument of choice as well as your singing voice as we linger into the evening. Note: Flashlights are needed for after dark hours to and from parking lot and restrooms. (To attend, please use the e-RSVP: mopeter6422@gmail.com)

Post Reception Special Observatory Event

9:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Robert Ferguson Observatory
2605 Adobe Canyon Road, Kenwood, CA 95452

ADJACENT TO CAMPSITE Nautical twilight will be about an hour and a half after sunset at 10pm. Our tour will begin around 9:30pm. Attendees will have access to use three separate telescopes. Although our event is private, this astronomy observatory is Northern California’s most active public observatory. It is also the largest in the western United States completely dedicated to public viewing and education. The dark night sky of Sugarloaf Ridge makes it a perfect location for stargazing. We will be surrounded by a ring of hills, decreasing the light pollution from nearby cities. This also will affect cellphone service. Flashlights needed. Cellphone flashlights will work! Red cellophane will be provided to cover any light used near the observatory to see the stars. Also, please remember evenings can be very cool. Dress accordingly. (To attend, please use the e-RSVP: mopeter6422@gmail.com)
