Durham is a beautiful historic city located about a 40-minute drive from Stockton-on-Tees, the hometown of Taylor’s dad’s side of the family. It’s a wonderful place to visit, best known for the magnificent Durham Cathedral, a landmark of the Church of England and a filming location for several Harry Potter movies. The city itself is stunning—full of charm, history, and life. With Durham University at its heart, the area has a vibrant, youthful atmosphere and plenty of great places to eat and explore. It’s also one of Taylor and Monique’s favorite date-night destinations—especially for their beloved Chinese noodles. 10/10 recommend!
The best fish and chips in all of the UK. This is a super cute seaside town about 45 45-minute drive from Stockton-on-Tees. Taylor has a lot of memories growing up here. It has a beautiful Abbey Castle ruins, and the famous 199 steps to get to it. The story of Dracula also came from this town. 10/10 recommend!!!
Saltburn is one of Monique and Taylor’s favorite spots—a charming seaside town just a 25-minute drive from Teesside. It’s known for its delicious fish and chips, scenic pier walks, and breathtaking coastal views. The surrounding trails offer beautiful hikes and peaceful moments by the sea. Saltburn also holds a special place in their hearts, as it’s where Taylor was baptized by Mike Taylor, who will be officiating their wedding. Filled with joy, meaning, and sweet memories, Saltburn is truly a wholesome and treasured place for the couple.
York, England, is a beloved and historic city that draws visitors from all over the world. Its charming street, The Shambles, is said to have inspired Diagon Alley from the Harry Potter films. Taylor and Monique have brought many American mission teams here over the years, making it a special place for ministry and exploration. Located just about an hour from Teesside, it’s easily accessible by car or train, making it a perfect destination for a fun and memorable day trip.
