Monique: It all began in the summer of 2023, when I came to Teesside to serve at the church for a few months — not knowing those weeks would change both of our lives forever. Just three days before we met, Taylor had accepted a new role leading the youth ministry, and neither of us could have guessed that God was already weaving our paths together. From the very beginning, there was something special — a shared heart for people, for the church, and for what God was doing in Teesside. When the summer came to an end, I returned to America, but my heart never really left. Over time, I began to sense God calling me back to Teesside — back to the place, the community, and (though I didn’t know it yet) the person who would one day become my husband. Taylor: When Monique came back, we reconnected, and what started as a friendship soon became something deeper. In January 2024, we began dating long-distance — a journey full of late-night calls, prayer, laughter, and a lot of time zones. Every mile apart only confirmed what we both already knew: this was something worth waiting and trusting for. That September, Monique returned to Teesside — this time for good. What began as a summer of serving became a story of calling, love, and faithfulness. We’ve seen God’s hand in every part of it, and now we can’t wait to step into this next chapter together.
