Keshav and I met at the City Church in Fort Worth, TX and the first time I met him, I laughed to myself because he could not have been more like the kind of man I always imagined I would end up with someday. The timing wasn't right, but 6 months later, we ended up sitting next to each other at an engagement party- some might call it prophetic ;). I thought he was so handsome and his laugh filled the entire room. I remember being so drawn to his warmth and passion and as he shared his heart for other cultures, medicine, faith, learning, and serving I was so amazed and simultaneously skeptical. I didn't know it was possible to meet someone with such similar values and passions. Kesh asked for my number that night and we went on our first date a few days later. He quickly won my heart with his profound wisdom, culinary skills, deep laugh, and kindness. We both realized pretty quickly that despite coming from very different backgrounds, we make a pretty great team.
A few months later, after flying to Chicago by himself to meet my parents and asking my whole family for their blessing, Kesh proposed while we were hiking at Mineral Wells. Kesh and I always talk about this concept of beholding- I had written a reflection after visiting Thailand (https://onehandwrittenletter.wordpress.com/2017/05/03/on-beholding/), this idea that we should have that same sense of awe in regards to people that we have while staring at a beautiful sunset or mountain top. As we ate our picnic lunch and took in the beautiful lake view at Mineral Wells, Kesh asked me what I was beholding. As I focused on figuring out which minute details of the view most captured my attention, I didn't even notice that Kesh had gotten down on one knee. He said he wanted the start of our life together to be just how he hoped everyday together would be: beholding one another as we behold the world and people around us. I am so thankful for this man and we are both so amazed as we reflect on God's hand over the timing and orchestration of our relationship. We are so excited for this next chapter of our lives and to get to celebrate with our closest friends and family. Thank you so much for checking out our wedding website, but most importantly, for the huge role you have played in our lives thus far and will continue to play in our new life together.
