A small "park" in the Queen Anne neighborhood with an unsurpassed iconic view of Seattle skyline with an occasional backdrop of Mount Rainier. If it's warm, walk up two blocks to Molly Moon's and get some really good ice cream (and maybe a Top Pot doughnut)!

About ~1.5 hr north of the city, Deception Pass is a very pretty park and bridge on the way to the islands. Nice place to hang out for a picnic and enjoy the scenery, or continue on to Anacortes and take a ferry to Friday Harbor.
This is where they adjust the water level between the Puget sound and Lake Union in the city. On the far side, you can see the Salmon ladder (not sure if the fish are actually swimming now, but it's cool to learn about the process of how the Salmon spawn, migrate, etc).
Leavenworth is a Bavarian-styled village in the Cascade Mountains, in central Washington State. Alpine-style buildings with restaurants serving German beer and food line Front Street. The Nutcracker Museum displays thousands of nutcrackers, some dating back centuries. On the Wenatchee River, Waterfront Park is a habitat for ospreys and eagles. The village is a gateway to nearby ski areas and wineries.

The Seattle Great Wheel is a giant Ferris wheel at Pier 57 on Elliott Bay in Seattle, Washington. With an overall height of 175 feet, it was the tallest Ferris wheel on the West Coast of the United States when it opened on June 29, 2012
If you have time, you should rent a car and drive here. Ascending to 4,392 meters (14,411 feet) above sea level, Mount Rainier stands as an icon in the Washington landscape and is the centerpiece of the national park. Atop 6,400-ft.-high Sunrise, the highest point in the park reachable by car, visitors can admire Rainier and other nearby volcanoes, including Mount Adams. The park’s 5,400-ft.-high Paradise overlook offers mountain views, summertime wildflower meadows and hiking trailheads.
Woodland Park Zoo saves wildlife and inspires everyone to make conservation a priority. Kids love it too.
Bellevue Botanical Garden displays the best plants and gardening practices for healthy, beautiful Northwest gardens. A favorite among the kids.
