The bride and groom will be flying in on Tuesday, June 4th, from Denver via United. There are direct flights from Denver to PVR on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Otherwise, if you are traveling from Detroit, Chicago, Grand Rapids, New York, or LA, you will most likely connect through DFW or IAH with flight options on all major airlines and Aeromexico.
We are currently working to arrange transportation to and from the resort, however we found that taking an Uber or taxi from the PVR airport to be very easy and safe. From the airport, you can expect to pay ~$25 USD for a taxi or Uber, and ~$18 USD to return to the airport from the resort. You will see an authorized taxi stand directly outside baggage claim which will allow you to pay for your taxi in advance via credit card or cash, after which you will be escorted to your designated cab outside. Another option is to meet with other guests at the airport and take transportation together; if you land early, there is a Corona bar/restaurant directly outside the exit doors (to your right as you walk out) to keep you entertained as you wait! Feel free to reach out to Mike or Monica for more transportation advice or if you have any concerns.
We kindly ask that you consider booking your stay at the Hilton Vallarta and take advantage of the convenience of being located in the same location as the wedding, in addition to reducing additional transportation and offsite guest fees that you may incur, however please let us know if you plan on looking for other accommodations, or have any questions or concerns!
Our travel agent, Wendy Soroka, will assist you in booking your accommodations at the Hilton Riviera! Wendy can provide a complete listing of rooms available (standard to premium) and rates per person per night, as well as answer any other questions or future booking alterations that you might have. Please reach out to her at wendy@lizmooreweddings.com or 1-403-861-6454.
Pricing includes all food, drinks, and resort entertainment. By staying at the resort you will be included in all wedding festivities and receive all-inclusive benefits of the resort including several swimming pools, private swimmable beach access, water sports (kayaks, paddle boards), unlimited food and beverage at all 9 restaurants, 5 bars, and room service.
We picked Puerto Vallarta for our destination wedding location as it is an amazing vacation spot with many things to do and see, from snorkeling cruises, to island hopping, food and liquor tastings, zip-lining, or just hanging at the beach and exploring the town! We also recommend splitting your time between Puerto Vallarta, and the beautiful surf towns of Punta Mita/Sayulita which is an hour north of the airport. The bride and groom will be staying at the Hilton from Monday, June 3, to Sunday, June 9. The longer you stay, the better; but stay as long as you like! Several guests are planning to arrive on Wednesday, June 5, and will leave on Sunday, June 9.
NO! Please do not drink tap water while in Mexico, including at the Hilton resort. The resort will provide unlimited, large bottles of water for you to drink AND use to brush your teeth (yes, I mean it, please use the bottled water to brush your teeth). Ice is safe at the resort, however if you choose to explore outside restaurants or bars in PV, always ask for bottled water instead of tap. Please try to avoid the tap water in order to keep your tummy happy and healthy, so that you can fully enjoy your Mexico vacation! If in doubt about the water, booze is generally a safe alternative ;).
The Hilton has 444 rooms (all ocean-facing), along with multiple pools, restaurants, bars, and a private beach! This allows for guests to find privacy within the resort when alone-time is needed throughout the weekend, but when you're ready to party with the wedding group, it should be easy to find us!
Yes, a passport is required when traveling to Mexico. Please ensure that you have the proper documentation to travel internationally. Yes, you can convert your US cash into Mexican pesos upon arrival in Puerto Vallarta, however the exchange rate may not be favorable. Based on our experience in Puerto Vallarta, we highly suggest that you order Mexican Pesos in advance through your bank, specifically in smaller denominations ($20's, $50's, $100's MXN) for tipping and payments (i.e., taxis or gift shops). Another option is to bring US dollars in denominations of $1's, $5's, and $10's. Most ATM's, including the Hilton's, only dispense Mexican Pesos in $200 MXN bills (around $11 USD), and the hotel typically cannot break larger bills. If you plan on using a credit card for anything be advised that some credit card issuers charge a foreign transaction fee.
The average temperature in Puerto Vallarta this time of year is a high of 87 degrees, and low of 73 degrees in the evening. This is perfect weather for getting some sun during the day time but cool enough to enjoy an outdoor wedding and reception in the evening.
Yes, the dress code is semi-formal attire. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will take place on the resort's rooftop deck (no sand or grass). Feel free to wear cocktail dresses, dressy pantsuits, cotton or linen button downs with slacks (jackets and ties are not required).
