It was a brisk April day in 2011 at the Passion Retreat in Sandy Cove, Maryland. During free time, Monica & Mina ventured to the basketball court where they first met. Mina was instantly drawn to the prettiest girl (& only one) but he kept it cool. He didn’t want to get crossed over in front of the guys. They played, they dapped & they dipped. After the retreat, the 2 found themselves as friends on Facebook. Mina decided to make a move...via Words With Friends. Little did he know that Monica was about to school him. She got a 123 point word which didn’t sit well with Mina but he found his avenue to start an epic dialogue with this wonderful, basketball playing, word guru. The dialogue goes like this: Mina: 123 words my butt…. (End of convo) Fast forward 7 ½ years to December 2018; Mina is working from home & it’s a rare snow day in NC. He randomly shares a social media post about the snow. Meanwhile, Monica was having a rough day at work and she gets a notification that Mina posted his first Instagram story. Curious as to what it might be, she views his story. The conversation finally picks up & goes like this: Monica: um, excuse me, but what do you do for a living to be working from home in the snow? (7 ½ SECONDS later) Mina: will you marry me? Alright, that wasn’t the next line but the adventure from 2011 was back on. The two got to know each other over the next few months while growing fond of one another. It wasn’t until 2019 that Mina found out his original message from 7 ½ years EARLIER, was “accidentally” left UNREAD; (you may contact us for the full details). Through prayers & faith in our loving God, Mina made a firm commitment to frequently visit Connecticut to eat pizza, and oh, yeah, win over the woman of his dreams.
