Megan didn’t feel up to going out, but agreed to a low key hang at Kenny’s as long as no one unexpected was going to be there. She gets in the car and - you guessed it - Danny was in the front seat. They didn’t chat much that night, but over the course of the next few months, a Phillies game, a movie date to see Avatar, Danny’s 17th birthday hangout, a trip to McDonalds and a New Year’s Eve kiss, things were getting what the kids call “serious.”

While sitting in a car & talking for hours on a Wednesday night (as teens do best), Megan looked up at the stars and told Danny she made a wish for the both of them. He pretended not to ‘get it,’ went home and spent a sleepless night weighing whether it was possible to have a girlfriend without his own car to drive to her house and take her on dates. He came to his senses the following day, and as his cousin Kenny drove them home from school, Danny romantically walked Megan four and a half feet from the car (to get some privacy ya know) and said “So uh, you wanna make this official?”

A planned datenight with friends. A mock dinner reservation email. FDR’s boathouse. Surprise photographers. Shaky hands and heartfelt words. A blurry but sure, “yes.” A visit to share the news with Megan’s grandmom. A compilation of proposal prep videos. A surprise engagement party at the Clements with all of our family and friends. The best. night. ever.
