Question

What is the dining dress code at Ocean Reef Club?

Answer

The Club’s dress code includes dining attire requirements that are best described as “club casual.” For men, this means collared shirts and dress trousers, with equivalent appropriate attire for ladies. Shorts, if worn, must be of walking length. Smart long jeans are allowed at some restaurants, but not all. Please note that jeans with rips, tears, or frayed hems are NOT permitted for men or women. Prior to dining at the Reef, we recommend consulting each restaurant's dress code at oceanreef.com/dining

Question

Is there a dress code outside of the club's restaurants?

Answer

Yes. Notable dress code regulations include the following: · Cut-off, un-hemmed and tattered jean shorts are not allowed at the Club. · Bathing suit cover-ups and shoes must be worn in all Club areas away from Buccaneer Island. · At the Fitness Center and during outdoor exercise, shirts must be worn at all times. Shirts worn by gentlemen must have sleeves. Ladies’ shirts must have full coverage. Proper athletic footwear is required in the Fitness Center. For more information about the dress code, visit oceanreef.com/membership/dress-code

Question

Are there any other club rules I should know about?

Answer

· Use of cell phones in any of the Club’s restaurants and Fitness Centers is not permitted. · Gentlemen are expected to remove their hats when entering a Club facility, excluding the Raw Bar and Fitness Centers.

Question

What is the best way to spend the day in Ocean Reef?

Answer

We have a saying in Ocean Reef that refers to the best way to spend the day, which is "Pool, Boat, Burge." Regular Reefers have established an art as to how to spend the day, and it starts with some form of physical exercise together in the morning - some of our favorites are going for a long walk, playing tennis or pickleball, or visiting the fitness center. After your morning workout, get on your swimsuit and cover-up, and head to the pool for lunch. The quicker lunch option on the beach is the Beach Grill. Although a more lengthy option, our favorite place to eat is Palm Court by the water. After eating lunch, we recommend lounging on the beach, swimming, socializing at the beach bar, or you can rent paddleboards, kayaks, or sailboats to enjoy the ocean and likely see some wildlife! Don't forget your sunscreen - the sun will be very strong at this time of the year. End the beach day by grabbing a cocktail from the beach bar and head to The Point to watch the sunset. Get ready for dinner & enjoy the restaurant options in Ocean Reef. You cannot go wrong food wise, but some of our favorites are The Islander (fresh seafood), Gianni's (Italian), or if you're looking for something more casual, go to The Raw Bar. After dinner, head over to the Reef Lounge for a specialty cocktail in a modern, more quiet atmosphere, or head over to the Burgee Bar for a more lively atmosphere! The Burgee Bar will be the more popular option of the weekend.

Question

How will we get around throughout the weekend?

Answer

If you're staying at the hotel, every event of the weekend is within walking distance. The Welcome Party is further away, but we will be providing shuttles to take everyone back and forth to the hotel. The island, as a whole, is small, and very walkable. However, if you want a faster mode of transportation, the most fun way to get around is by renting a golf cart, which is roughly $55/day. If you're interested in renting a cart, call the front desk at (305) 367-2611 and ask them to put you through to "golfcart rentals." You can also rent bicycles hourly I believe. Consult with the front desk for details on this while there. Another way to get around in a pinch is to call Ocean Reef's free transportation service, called Bell Stand. We recommend leaving a cash tip for the driver. The phone number for Bell Stand is (305) 367-5985.
