Our Proposal

If you know anything about Cameron and I you know that humor is a big part in our relationship. Our proposal story is a perfect representation of just that. On August 11, 2018 Cameron graduated from MTSU. Our MTSU friends already know this, but it is tradition for MTSU students to get engaged on the Murphy steps for good luck. As we were taking photos after the ceremony with his parents Cameron reminded me of this tradition and told me we would have been engaged had I tranferred to MTSU. Needless to say I was anything but amused at this point. We then had lunch with his parents before heading to Nashville for what I thought was just a concert. We first stopped at my apartment to drop off his car before heading downtown. Cameron asked if we could stop at FGL before the concert to get a drink then head over the pedestrain bridge to the concert. As our Lyft approached FGL Cameron decided it was best to make our way over as it was nearly time for the concert to start. As we started to make our way over the bridge with the other thousands of people I saw Chasten and her husband Tyler and wanted to go say hi but Cameron said we didn’t have time to talk otherwise we would miss the start of the concert, so reluctantly I continued to walk. As we approached the peak of the bridge Cameron asked to stop so he could take a picture of me. I really did not think much of it because we had recently return from Italy where he took many pictures of me, and honestly he had not seen me in a dress in a while so I simply was under the impression he thought I looked nice, rather than seeing me in scrubs. Cameron positioned me to look into the city and as he was pulling out the ring and getting down on one knee to propose a gentleman tapped Cameron on the shoulder and asked him to take a photo of his family. He had me step back with him while he took the photo then repositioned me to propose. Looking back our proposal would not have been the same without this stranger.
