FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We want you to be comfortable! The dress code is dressy casual attire. For this time of year in Kansas, may we suggest the following attire: Women: sundresses and cocktail dresses of any length, or lightweight separates. Men: light dress shirt with khaki or other lightweight slacks; jackets and ties optional. Of course, cowboy hats are permitted and encouraged!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Though we love all of your little ones, we have chosen to only include children from our close family. If your child was not included in your invite, we respectfully ask that they not come. Think of it as a parent's date night! Thank you for your understanding.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have chosen to keep this event restricted to those we know and love best! If a plus-one was included in your invitation, you are welcome to bring a date. If not, we respectfully ask that you don't bring along anyone extra as there will not be a meal or seat provided for them.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking will be available at both the ceremony and the reception venue. Vehicles can be left at the venue overnight if you need to Uber/Lyft back to your accommodations.

Question

Is the ceremony at the same location as the reception?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be at 2 separate locations. The ceremony will be held at Queen of the Holy Rosary in Bucyrus, Kansas at 1 pm. The reception will be held at the Bourgmont Winery, also in Bucyrus, Kansas. The earliest time guests may arrive to the reception is 5:30 pm for cocktail hour. The two locations are less than 10 minutes drive from one another. There will be approximately 1.5 hours between the end of the ceremony and the start of cocktail hour at the reception venue. We encourage guests to use this time to freshen up and prepare for a night of live music, good food and dancing!

Question

What food will be served?

Answer

We will have snacks available by the bar during cocktail hour. Dinner will be a fajita bar complete with sopapillas and honey!

Question

What will the ceremony be like?

Answer

We have chosen to have a full Catholic Mass at Queen of the Holy Rosary. We are thrilled to be able to partake in this sacrament in front of our friends and families. For those unfamiliar with a Catholic Mass, please be prepared for a little longer of a ceremony (typically around an hour). Communion will be offered for those baptized in the Catholic faith. If you are not a practicing Catholic, you are still welcome to approach the priest at this time and ask for his blessing. Queen of the Holy Rosary is a beautiful church that embodies the grace and friendliness of small-town Kansas, and makes us feel right at home. We hope that no matter your faith, you will be able to enjoy this life event with us!

Question

Can I take photos at your wedding?

Answer

While we ask that all phones be away for the entirety of the ceremony, we encourage photos at cocktail hour and the reception!
