IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

You can click the RSVP tab above and RSVP at any time. We will include a paper RSVP with the invitation if you prefer to mail your RSVP back to us.

Question

Passports/Entry Visa

Answer

Do not forget your passport! Please double check to make sure it does not expire on or before June 15, 2025 to give enough time to get a new one. Also the UK now requires all U.S. citizens to file for a UK Electronic Travel Authorization application/payment can be found here (takes at least three days for approval) - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta#who-can-get-an-eta

Question

What are some travel essentials I should bring?

Answer

Comfortable shoes for walking (you will be doing this a lot). Bring a rain jacket - late August/early September is the start of the rainy season.

Question

Do I need a travel adapter or converter?

Answer

Yes. In the UK they use a "Type G" adapter for all of their wall plugs. Examples from Amazon can be found here - https://www.amazon.com/s?k=uk+travel+adapter&i=tools&crid=2W01UFC572BWP&sprefix=UK+travel+adap%2Ctools%2C112&ref=nb_sb_ss_p13n-pd-dpltr-2-ranker_1_14

Question

Do I need to bring cash?

Answer

Yes. While almost everywhere in the UK takes card, we would still recommend you still bring $150-200 in pounds for random expenses.

Question

What time is check in at the hotel?

Answer

Check in begins at 3:00 PM at the Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House. They do offer to hold luggage if you arrive early.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

The weather this time of year in the UK has highs usually in the upper 60s to low 70s. The nights can be somewhat cool, so bring a jacket just in case. If you are going to Edinburgh before or after, it will be much cooler. Expect it to be cloudy at some point on most days and showers from time to time (this is the very beginning of the UK's rainy season).

Question

Is the Wedding Indoors or Outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony is scheduled to be outdoors. However, we will have an indoor option as a backup if the weather does not cooperate.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

No, we are having an "unplugged" ceremony which means no photos. We ask for all guests to follow this and be completely present during our special time. Our hired professionals will be doing the photo-taking during that time. Feel free to take all of the photos you would like after the ceremony is complete!
