Our story isn't like most. We met in college back in 2012 at a themed party for Chi Omega and Pi Kappa Alpha. We played a few games together at the party, but little did we know we had just met our future spouse. We went our separate ways and it took a few years for us to be reconnected. Bernie finally asked me out on our first date at Maumee Bay Brewing in 2014. The rest is history. We've been through a lot over the years. We've survived a long distance relationship, training for a marathon, studying for tests, exams and boards, finding our first big kid jobs after graduation and buying our first home. We are very excited to start this next chapter as husband and wife.

When you've been together as long as we have a "surprise" proposal can be a little bit of a challenge. Bernie being Bernie did his absolute best and it really was the best day of my life. We had friends and family over for a housewarming party in May of 2019. It was colder than we were expecting so everything had to be moved inside unfortunately. Other than the weather, the party was going well with Bernie's famous margaritas being served. It was getting late and my parents were going to be leaving soon. I was going into the kitchen to say goodbye to my parents with Bernie leading the way. He turned around and got down on one knee in the middle of our kitchen. To say I was shocked is an understatement. It took a few seconds for everyone else to realize what was happening including myself to be honest. There were a lot of yelling, cheers and tears all around. The answer was clearly a very excited "YES!" We are still just as excited and can't wait for our big day in September
