The Wedding Website of Molly Dorkin and Barry Taylor
Some local recommendations (mostly in the Camden area, where the Dorkins spend summers - a short drive south along the coast!)
Schooner Anjacaa

Schooner Anjacaa

Public landing, Camden, ME 04843

Any of the sailboats out of Camden harbor are lovely, but we recommend the Anjacaa (smaller and faster than most) - especially the sunset cruise. BYO drinks and snacks!

Boynton-McKay Food Co.

Boynton-McKay Food Co.

30 Main Street, Camden, ME 04843
, (207) 236-2465

The best diner brunch (and a Julia Child favourite) but it gets crowded on weekends

Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse

Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse

Rockland, ME 04841
, (207) 594-4174

One of our favourite walks - it's about a mile from the beach by the Samoset Resort out to Rockland breakwater lighthouse. Pack sandwiches from Rock City Coffee Roasters in town for a picnic!

Farnsworth Art Museum

Farnsworth Art Museum

16 Museum Street, Rockland, ME 04841
, (207) 596-6457

Terrific American paintings collection for a small museum, with a focus on local artists - the Wyeth collection is the main (no pun intended) highlight

McLaughlin's Lobster Shack

McLaughlin's Lobster Shack

12 McKay Rd, Lincolnville, ME 04849
, (207) 789-5205

Lobster rolls on the beach in Lincolnville (dogs welcome!)

Zoot Coffee

Zoot Coffee

5 Elm Street, Camden, ME 04843
, (207) 236-9858

A fair amount of Molly's PhD thesis was written here...

Belfast Farmers' Market

Belfast Farmers' Market

256 High Street, Belfast, ME 04915
, (207) 450-8282

All the little coastal towns have terrific seasonal farmer's markets - here's the one in Belfast

Young's Lobster Pound

Young's Lobster Pound

2 Fairview Street, Belfast, ME 04915
, (207) 338-1160

Beach side lobster rolls in Belfast

Islesboro Island

Islesboro Island

Islesboro, ME 04848

Take the ferry from Lincolnville beach out to Islesboro island in the Penobscot bay

Long Grain

Long Grain

20 Washington Street, Camden, ME 04843
, (207) 236-9001

The best Thai food Molly has ever had - this restaurant books up weeks in advance so be sure to reserve a table! Ingredients all sourced locally at farmer's markets, cheap and excellent

River Ducks Ice Cream

River Ducks Ice Cream

19 Mechanic Street, Camden, ME 04843
, (207) 322-7129

Barry's favourite place for an enormous sundae! (They have gf cones as well)

Dots

, (207) 706-7922

Gourmet food and wine shop between Lincolnville and Camden

Lily, Lupine & Fern

Lily, Lupine & Fern

11 Main Street, Camden, ME 04843
, (207) 236-9600

Excellent selection of international wines and local cheeses (perfect for a picnic on a sunset sail out of Camden harbor!)

Darby's Restaurant

Darby's Restaurant

155 High St, Belfast, ME 04915
, (207) 338-2339

A recommendation from local friends

Maiden Cliff Trailhead

Maiden Cliff Trailhead

321-415 Turnpike Drive, Camden, ME 04843

For a gorgeous hike (about 1 mile each direction and reasonably steep, though definitely hiking not climbing) - perhaps not for those who are, like Barry, afraid of heights! From the top you have extensive views across Lake Megunticook in the direction of the Dorkin cabin

Cellardoor Winery

Cellardoor Winery

367 Youngtown Road, Lincolnville, ME 04849
, (207) 763-4478

For any wine-collecting friends keen to compare Lincolnville to the Loire, Belfast to Bordeaux or Camden to Chablis for terroir....

For all the days along the way
