FAQs

The Wedding Website of Molly Dorkin and Barry Taylor
If you have other questions please get in touch with Molly (molly.dorkin@gmail.com), Barry (barrytaylor382@btinternet.com) or our wedding planner Anna (anna@wed-maine.com). You can RSVP using the reply card (sent with paper invitations in February 2020!) or to mollyandbarry2020@gmail.com. We hope to see you in Maine!
Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes, there is parking at the venue.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Yes, children are very welcome all weekend - please make sure to let us know numbers. We will be happy to help organise child care at the Retreat House on Saturday evening if needed, and make sure children are fed and well looked after so parents are free to enjoy the evening party! The venue recommends https://midcoastfamilyrentals.com/ for any gear or local babysitting needs.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Friday is smart casual and Sunday is relatively relaxed. For Saturday, we suggest cocktail attire/lounge suits (suit or jacket and tie for men, and the equivalent for ladies). The evening could get chilly so please bring a wrap or a jacket.

Question

What will the weather be like in early May in Maine?

Answer

Unpredictable! It could be as cold as mid-40sF (7C) or as warm as 70F (21C), raining or sunny. We recommend checking the weather report nearer the date.

Question

Will the event be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We are hoping to hold the cocktail reception outdoors, weather permitting, and the evening events will take place both indoors and outside.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

We haven't organised a shuttle as there didn't seem to be any takers when we asked - but we'll do our best to coordinate rides for people without cars, and make sure everyone can get to the party! There will be plenty of people driving so please let us know if you need help with transportation.

Question

Can I take/post photos of the event on social media?

Answer

You are welcome to take photographs but we'd be grateful if you could remember to set your phone to silent and turn the flash off during any speeches or musical performances. We will have a hired photographer though so you may prefer to enjoy the event and download photos later!

Question

Can I get there if I don't drive (or don't drive in America)?

Answer

Yes, in addition to the coastal bus service from Boston or Portland to Belfast (travelling northward) or Bangor to Belfast (travelling southward) we would be happy to connect people looking for ride shares or offering spare seats.

Question

How can I RSVP?

Answer

Thank you to everyone who RSVPd for the 2020 (!) event - but we know a lot has changed so we'd be grateful if everyone could confirm for 2022 using our email address, mollyandbarry2020@gmail.com (yes, we know, we're not going to bother changing the address....it still works.) Please let us know: -how many people will be attending the Friday dinner, Saturday reception and Sunday brunch. If you'll be in town by Thursday and want to connect, that would be great too! We'll also need to know the ages of any children coming, as the venue asks for head count. -how many people would like transportation on Saturday, and from which hotel -whether you have any allergies or dietary requirements Thank you!

Question

Has the event changed at all due to the delay?

Answer

As Molly and Barry are now legally married, the event will take a different format as an anniversary celebration and a reunion of family and friends rather than a wedding ceremony. We hope you can join us!
