It all started on a cold New York City day: March 6, 2024. Enter Dania, 23 and Kamal, 26. Their first date and first time meeting unfolded in the heart of the West Village at Saint Theo's. Kamal insisted on taking Dania's coat at the door, and she shyly let the new stranger. The lights were dim and the room glowed orange with candles throughout. "Pretty nice place for a first date," Dania thought, clearly impressed. They sat in the corner booth across from each other. Kamal was surprised when his eyes first met Dania's. "I'm in trouble," he thought. Two strangers were immediately drawn to each others stories of their homelands Syria and Lebanon. Three hours, talks about dreams, an overabundance of Italian food, and many laughs later, Dania somehow knew that this would be the man she married one day. The date didn't end there. Kamal gave Dania three options: they would call it a night and agree to a second date, find another spot to keep chatting, or he'd bring her to meet his friends who were around the corner. It was unlike Kamal to introduce someone new to his group, especially so early, but there they were all together, at The Spaniard. I don't think any of us are surprised to learn that Dania got the nod of approval that night. This is where their love story began. Their second date was a stroll in Central Park and their third date was at the movies to see Kung Fu Panda 4. By the third date, they were both falling in love. I mean, who goes to see Kung Fu Panda on only their third encounter? They spent Ramadan fasting together, and by the third month of their "relationship," Dania wanted answers. What was next? Kamal tried to deny his already growing love for Dania out of fear. But at a Knicks Playoff Game a few weeks later, it turned out they were both there, but not together. They were with their families. This is where everything took a turn. Kamal met both of Dania's parents during half time, which then sparked the endless questions from her parents afterwards. Kamal's vision then became very clear: he was never going to let her go. This is the one, and he couldn't be without her. Their relationship became official under the seafoam colored celestial mural of Grand Central Station. And it took them places: upstate New York, Pensacola, Hawaii, Miami, Austin, all the way to the rooftop of the William Vale in Williamsburg on a snowy day. The day after Valentine's: February 15, 2025. He got on one knee. A camera flash went off and Dania began to process what was happening. She cried, screamed to the world, and jumped up and down in disbelief. The ring Dania had dreamed of since she was a 10 years old was placed on her finger. A promise to each other forever, an everlasting love with a strong foundation. Dania and Kamal are as genuine as it gets, and so so lucky. Now, Dania, 25, and Kamal, 28, were given a love that will take them to 100, old, and wrinkly.
