THE TYREES

We first met in 6th grade at Harper Park Middle school, and were friendly because of our hair color. After circling around each other throughout the 7 years of middle and high school, we both went off to college thinking we’d never see each other again. After college we both began to work in the school system and coach at our old stomping grounds, Heritage HS - Morgan coaching volleyball and Patrick coaching baseball. In February 2023, some of our players/students found THE picture of us on Instagram from middle school (see the 1st picture in the gallery) and immediately began antagonizing both of us over it. After the constant berating from our high schoolers, we coincidentally reconnected at the HHS Athletics’ Casino Night and the first thing Morgan said to Patrick was, “I heard we're supposed to be getting married”. Patrick responded, “Same”. Fast forward 2 weeks to April 2023, we began talking after some of Patrick’s baseball players were misbehaving in class and Morgan thinking Patrick *might* help take care of it (really looking to see if he would talk to her). To Morgan's surprise, Patrick not only replied to the message but kept talking...for hours... After a couple of late night chats and Morgan asking about Patrick’s astrological signs and belief in aliens, we went on our first date on - a picnic date at Ida Lee. Once the sun went down and the long conversation and questions came to an end, we both felt something neither had felt before. A year of day trips, beach trips, Saturdays at the farmers market, sushi dates, binging shows, laughs, happiness, growing, graduations, new jobs, late nights, volleyball, baseball, golf AND a whole lot of tacos ensued…. And on May 18th, 2024 we went back to Ida Lee, not for another picnic but to get engaged where we both felt something for one another for the very first time!
