Yes! A valid passport is required for travel to Mexico. Make sure it's valid through at least June 2027 (6 months after the wedding).

Best time to book: May to August 2026 Too early: Prices 10–12 months out can be high and volatile Too late: Booking after October risks higher prices and limited availability due to holiday and school break travel

Cancun in December is generally warm and pleasant with average temperatures between 72°F to 82°F. Nights are cooler, dropping to around 66°F. December is not part of the Atlantic hurricane season, making it a more stable and predictable time to travel.

Tips are technically included, but a few dollars here and there for great service (bartenders, housekeeping) is always appreciated.

U.S. dollars are widely accepted, but having small bills is helpful. If you plan to explore outside the resort, pesos can be useful.
