Mines of Spain
This is where we went on our first date! Great for getting out in nature and seeing the beautiful fall colors!
Mississippi Riverwalk
Get up close and personal with the 4th longest river in the world! If you want to go for a nice walk along the river this is the best place to do it.
Fenelon Place Elevator
Take a ride on the steepest, shortest railway in the world! Once you get to the top, take a look over downtown Dubuque and see how many church steeples you can count.
Lower Main District
If you're looking for food and drinks, Lower Main District is a great place to start! Craft breweries, wine bars, restaurants, and corner bars can all be found on Main Street, or just a couple blocks away!
Galena
If you have a couple hours of down time, take a short trip to Galena, IL. Their main street is filled with little shops that you could find everything you didn't need! Make sure you stop at Galena Canning Company, you can basically eat a meal on all of their samples they have out!
Swiss Valley Nature Preserve and Nature Center
Swiss Valley is beautiful nature area with trails winding through the hills in the headwaters of Catfish Creek. Although you may not see the Mississippi from here, being surrounded by the bluffs of Dubuque and fall foliage is a great way to spend an hour or two.
