FAQs

The Wedding Website of Jill Tataryn and Mitch Dornblut
Question

Can I RSVP online?

Answer

Yes, please do! It's way easier to track. See the schedule / events page.

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP as soon as possible, but before the deadline of June 1st, 2026.

Question

Where is the wedding venue?

Answer

The wedding venue is Mitch's grandma and grandpa's house in Langley. It will all be outdoors, with the ceremony on the lawn and the reception on the paved driveway.

Question

How should I get to the venue?

Answer

We highly recommend catching an Uber/taxi to and from the venue because there will be VERY LIMITED PARKING, but if you choose to drive (or are the DD), we ask that you please park on 82 Ave or 198A St.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to/from the hotel if there's limited parking?

Answer

Probably not. Ask a millennial how to use Uber.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

There is no dress code, we just want all our guests to be comfortable enough to dance the night away. We suggest typical wedding attire... dressy/casual or semi-formal. For some folks that might mean a suit or cocktail dress, for others it might be a dress shirt and slacks or a sundress. We recommend block heels or sandals to save you from getting stuck in the grass. It will also be completely outdoors, so please dress for the weather. July in Langley is typically warm in the afternoons and cools off in the evening as the sun goes down. The average temperature is 19 degrees according to the internet. Please come prepared with any sunscreen, sweaters, etc.

Question

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Answer

We have a block at the Best Western but there are lots of options for accommodation. See the Travel tab.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

Your invitation will clearly state the number (and names) of guests that are welcome to attend. We ask that if your invitation is for 1 (just you) that you do not bring a guest due to capacity limitations. If your invitation is for more than just you (e.g., you and your partner) but the additional guest(s) aren't able to make it, please do not bring a replacement guest to "fill their spot" without clearing it with Mitch or Jill.

Question

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

Your invitation will clearly state the number and name(s) of guests who are welcome to attend. If your kids are invited, you will know. We are mostly limiting to family and out of town guests because the rest of you should know how to get a sitter. If you have an issue, please reach out to Mitch or Jill.

Question

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Answer

We will have a taco bar for dinner and fried chicken for the late lunch. There will be dairy, gluten, and meat-free options, and the caterer can accommodate any other restrictions, but please make sure to specify any dietary restrictions in your RSVP so that we can guarantee there will be food for you.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We are way too cheap for that! It will be a toonie bar, so please bring some cash!

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

We know that costs of attending a wedding add up pretty quickly. Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ever ask for. If you're stubborn, we do appreciate contributions to our honeymoon fund and also have a registry available on this website. If there's not much on it, it's because we posted this FAQ answer before getting very far into the registry creation. Gifts can be brought to the wedding or delivered to our address (available on the registry, probably).

Question

What time should I arrive at your ceremony?

Answer

The timeline is still in draft form, but the plan is for the ceremony to begin at 3:30pm, so we recommend arriving by 3:00pm to grab a refreshment and grab a seat.

Question

What time will the reception end?

Answer

The formal reception will end around 8:00pm and the dance will begin. We plan to have the dance floor going until 1:00am.

Question

Is there a gap between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There will be a short cocktail hour for you to refresh drinks and play lawn games while we get some family photos taken.

Question

Will there be other events to attend on the wedding weekend?

Answer

All of our guests are invited to join us for a welcome cocktail party on the evening before our wedding, following the rehearsal. This will run ~6:00-9:00pm so we can get our beauty sleep!

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

We ask that you keep your phones away during the ceremony to allow our photographer to get the best shots. After that, feel free to snap away.
