Aly and Mitch Get Hitched!

Mitch and Aly first met in middle school while living in Pella, IA. Both of their older sisters were in high school and going on an annual band trip to perform in the Citrus Bowl in Florida. Mitch and Aly's parents planned to take a bus down with other students' families however, upon arriving at the school, were notified that the bus had been cancelled. Aly's mom worked with Mitch's dad at the hospital in town, so they already knew each other. The set of parents decided to travel down together with 7th grade Aly and 6th grade Mitch in tow! If you were to tell those two kids that about 20 years down the road they'd be writing an "Our Story" blip on their wedding page, they would have laughed and laughed... Mitch and Aly remained friends throughout high school, with many mutual friends in between. Being the older woman, Aly graduated from High School ahead of Mitch and not long afterward left Iowa for the West Coast. Mitch went on to the University of Iowa after high school and then onto even more schooling! It was a school conference for anesthesia that led him out to Seattle. He remembered that Aly had moved there years ago and looked her up. Although 10 years had passed since they had seen each other, it was like no time had passed at all. By the time he had to leave, they both realized they had something special to hold on to. Mitch accepted a job in Iowa and, after 6 months of long distance dating, they decided to move Aly out to join him. Almost a year after that, they became engaged on the beautiful mountainside of Whitefish, MT while visiting for the holidays. Now the couple can’t wait to have their friends and family join them in the same gorgeous area on their wedding day!
