the hotel closest to town we would recommend is the King Kam by Marriott. It sits right in front of the pier and the beach, is just across the road from local shops and restaurants and has the most scenic walk down the main street of Alii drive.

Getting around the island could be rough when you don't have transportation. We highly recommend renting a vehicle to see the sights and explore the activities Big Island offers. Sharing a ride with friends could also help make the sight seeing cheaper and easier!
