Luis and Misleidy's love story began in the fall of 2021 while they were serving as leaders in their church's student ministry. After a few months of friendship, getting to know each other, and serving God together, they went on a student mission trip called Advance, as adult leaders. During this trip Luis found himself drawn to Misleidy and started to pursue a closer friendship with her. Their friendship evolved into frequent texting and hanging out together with their friends after church events. After her baptism in April of 2022, Luis worked up the courage and asked Misleidy out on a date. She accepted his invitation and they went to a Michelangelo art exhibit followed by cheese fries. While Luis was convinced God had sent him the one; Misleidy, being a new believer, was still unsure and wanted to seek God's will before making any decisions. That night, Luis took the leap forward and asked Misleidy to be his girlfriend and she politely declined answering “let me think about it.” And he responded, “ Will you actually think about it?” They remained friends, became summer interns for their church, and continued going on dates for the next few months, while Misleidy sought guidance from God and prayed for a sign regarding their relationship. On August 2nd of 2022 Luis took Misleidy on a date to the beach by Boynton Beach Inlet, which is now their favorite date spot. Although God had given her many signs already, on the drive there Misleidy prayed and asked God to show her a shooting star if it was his will for them to be together, as neither of them had ever seen one. To their amazement, they saw multiple shooting stars that night and he asked her again to be his girlfriend, this time she said yes and they began dating. After a year of dating, they went to the same beach on their anniversary and began praying and seeking guidance regarding the right time for marriage, once more asking for a sign... of course, in the form of a shooting star. To their surprise after only one month, their prayers were answered. On the last night of a young adult retreat where they were volunteering, Misleidy put her camera down and took a seat next to Luis by the bonfire, a moment later they saw a shooting star. They both froze, and as they turned to look at one another they instantly knew it was God's confirmation for them to take the next step. God has brought them together and given them confirmation through his creation. Join them as they take their next step in obedience to God and become one. "The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
