Our Story
Christiaan and Miriam first crossed paths at the wedding of their mutual friend Emily, in September 2022. Though they did notice each other, they did not actually meet there.
Eight months later, Christiaan began to feel like maybe, after a few years of working on himself, it was time to look for a partner. He decided that before "making mistakes swiping on apps" he would ask his good friend Emily if she knew anyone. After some thought, she asked her longtime friend Miriam if she might be interested in being introduced to someone.
Meanwhile, Miriam had just ended a short term relationship, and was planning to focus on friends and family for awhile. But when Emily reached out, she got curious.
After receiving photos and numbers, conversation ensued by text and did not cease for hours, killing the battery in Miriam's cell phone in the backseat of a car on a long roadtrip.
