FAQs

Question

Where are your venues?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will be held at the St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica located at 2011 Church Street in Galveston, Texas. St. Mary's was constructed in 1847 and is known as the "Mother Church" of Catholic Texas. The following reception will be held at the nearby Garten Verein on 2704 Avenue O. Gartein Verein was originally built as a dancing hall for Galveston's German immigrant population in 1880. It is located within scenic Kempner Park.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

St. Mary's Cathedral and Garten Verein have limited parking that may be exceeded by the number of our guests. Enter St. Mary's parking lot from Winnie Street and access Garten Verein's from Avenue O. Both locations have plenty of street parking for overflow, although you may have to pay in downtown Galveston when street-parking for St. Mary's before 6pm. Street parking for Garten Verein is free, and guests are encouraged to park on 27th Street after the established lot is full.

Question

What is the Wedding's Attire?

Answer

Our wedding attire will be semi-formal, but we do not intend it to be a strict dress code. Dress your best while maintaining your comfort!

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Yes! We are excited to celebrate with every member of our family — regardless of age.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

January 31, 2026 is the deadline to RSVP; however, if possible, we recommend you to RSVP earlier.

Question

What is the best transportation?

Answer

Driving is the best method of transportation. Garten Verein is a 5-minute drive from St. Mary's Cathedral, and, as such, no shuttles or buses will be provided. Parking is available at both venues. Ride-shares such as Uber and Lyft are easily available in Galveston as well. For those flying, William P. Hobby airport in Houston is the closest. Those flying internationally can land in George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
