Mark and Miranda officially met at a mutual friend's birthday party in high school. A few years prior, Miranda had set her sights on Mark, but waited patiently for her chance. After meeting, it turns out they had a class together that upcoming semester. It was in American Sign Language that Miranda and Mark's story began to blossom. Prom was approaching and with no date, Miranda' s friends began to scheme with Mark to set up a "promposal" for the two. This was Mark's chance to have a date with this girl "with cool shoes" who had sparked his interest. On April 27th 2014, Mark had planned a way to make Miranda late to ASL class. As Miranda walked in, the class was scattered along the walls and Mark was in the middle holding a poster that spelled out "PROM?" in ASL. Miranda said yes and as he handed her a rose, the class cheered. After this, Mark and Miranda's prom date turned into a summer out of a movie and that summer turned into years of laughter and a lot of love. It was 4 years later that Mark asked Miranda another important question. This time with the help of her brother and sister-in-law on top of a waterfall in California. On June 21, 2018, Miranda agreed to spend the rest of her life with Mark.
