We're Getting Married!

In 2010, Miranda and Rico met for the first time when they went to watch the movie Inception with their high school friends (which is still one of Rico’s favorite movies today). Miranda and Rico then spent the next 7 years as best friends going to football games, driving to Sonic, playing beach volleyball, and generally hanging out as teenagers and 20-somethings do. They began dating when Miranda moved back to Portland from Seattle after graduating college. However, Rico will tell you that he always planned to marry Miranda and Miranda will tell you that there was a reason she always cheered the loudest for him at his basketball games. After going on their first date to Por Que No tacos, they eventually moved into their first apartment, traveled to many baseball stadiums, tasted many wines (or IPAs in Rico’s case), and all around had a blast. They now reside in their home in Vancouver with their best dog friend Chloe and can’t wait to get hitched!

Miranda and Rico got engaged in August 2020, after much planning on Rico’s part. As they always celebrated their anniversary at Marchesi winery in Hood River, Rico told Miranda they should visit under the guise that they were unable to earlier due to the pandemic. Little did Miranda know that Rico had previously visited the winery and set out an extravagant plan to surprise her with his proposal and a beautiful lunch. After Miranda excitedly said “YES!”, Rico had another surprise up his sleeve and had some of Miranda’s closest friends (all of which are now bridesmaids) surprise her at their Vancouver home when they returned. Throughout the proposal, Rico managed to keep a straight face and Miranda never guessed what was in store. Both of them will tell you their engagement weekend was the highlight of their relationship - until their wedding day, of course!
