Travel Note

Make a trip out of it!

If you have the time and capacity we highly recommend you add on to the weekend before or after and explore some of the many beautiful places in the area. The Canadian border is only 25 minutes north of Bellingham, and Vancouver is only about 30 minutes from there (depending on the border wait). The San Juan Islands are about an hour drive and an hour or two on the ferry and are stunning (Miranda lived here for a summer!). Seattle is just about an hour and a half south and has a ton to offer. If you want any specific recommendations for any of these places please let us know!

Flight

Bellingham International Airport (BLI)

The Bellingham airport gets a decent amount of flights and is worth looking into. Alaska, Southwest, and Allegiant all fly into Bellingham.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)

Seattle is a much larger airport and gets a lot of flights. It is a bit of a drive and you have to go through Seattle but it is a great option if you want to add on a trip to Seattle and rent a car to drive up.

There will be a shuttle to the venue for the wedding and we are still determining pickup locations, but they will likely be in a central location in/near downtown. Most hotels in town don't do room blocks so we're listing a few in the area that we think are the best fits.

Four Points by Sheraton Bellingham Hotel

This hotel has nice accommodations and is pretty centrally located, just about a 15 minute walk to downtown.

The Chrysalis Inn & Spa

This hotel is very nice with beautiful views of the bay, and has a spa and a great restaurant. It is in Fairhaven and walkable to a bunch of shops and restaurants and right above the boardwalk along the bay. Note that this hotel is right above the train and it is noticeable during the day and throughout the night. The hotel provides ear plugs. We will be staying here for the weekend.

This hotel is also very nice and is on the water right next to the marina. There are a few restaurants and a park nearby and it is a 20 minute walk to downtown.

This hotel is an old historic building right in the heart of downtown. The rooms are fairly small but the location is great if you don't plan to rent a car.
